In 2003, Gwynneth launched Southern Cross Conferences in Cape Town. Gwyn plays an active role in Skills Development in the Meetings and Events Industry and has in 2015 been elected as a Board Member of the South African Association for Conference Industry. She also served as an advisor in the Events Chamber within Services SETA. In 2009. Gwynneth qualified as a CMP, the foremost certification of the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry.

Riaan Matthews

Riaan Matthews is Southern Cross Conferences’ Financial Director. He joined SCC in 2005 and plays an integral role in all the back-office operations of the business. He is the engine that drives the business and manages the financial, procurement and HR processes. Riaan’s calm yet dynamic leadership style has been instrumental in the success of Southern Cross Conferences to date.

Amanda Rowe

Amanda joined the Southern Cross Conferences team in August 2013 as an event coordinator. She came to us with an experience background that includes Sales Consultant at both Safari Now and Edge Travel, and Travel Consultant at Uyaphi.com. Amanda has a Diploma in Tourism and Travel Services Form Varsity College, and her degree and travel experience make her in invaluable events and travel professional.

Mom of two gorgeous boys and office manager extraordinaire! Lucinda comes from a background of office management for various NGO’s including Zip Zap Circus and The Amy Biehl Foundation. With qualifications in landscaping, events management and business management, Lucinda brings to SCC a hybrid of skills and experience and above all, keeps us all sane!

Nicole is a CPUT graduate in Events Management. After completing her internship with us, we just could not let her go. Nicole is a millennial in every positive sense of the word. She has a natural flair for event marketing and social media management and is a our event technology guru! We can’t wait to see where her career in events take her.
